As part of this strategy, the Ministry has launched 62 investment opportunities through the Egypt Upstream Gateway and is advancing multiple seismic survey programmes to identify new exploration prospects. Recent developments include new discoveries in the Mediterranean and Nile Delta, while international energy companies have resumed exploration activities in Egypt.
The government is also prioritising increased domestic energy production, expanding refining and petrochemical capacity, improving mining sector value, and accelerating renewable energy initiatives. These efforts aim to enhance energy security, support sustainable development, and position Egypt as a regional energy hub.
