Edem Michael Benedict works in the Central Electronic Licensing, Approval and Permitting Unit (CELAPS) of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), formerly Department of Petroleum Resources. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (First Class Honors) from the University of Port Harcourt and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigerian Association of Energy Economics (NAEE) and Nigerian Gas Association (NGA). He worked briefly for Ernst & Young Nigeria as a Tax Associate before joining NUPRC. He is very passionate about the government’s efforts in monetizing natural gas for domestic consumption through various initiatives.
