Marwa is a visionary process engineer with +6 years of experience, working in the industrial sector with an ambitious result-oriented approach. She executes and leads several projects for international clients and suppliers across different oil, gas, and petrochemical projects with great passion and dedication. She won the STEM Star of the Year Award by H.E. Eng. Tarek El Molla; Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources at “EGYPS 2023” Honors Female Excellence in Equality in the Field of Energy Awards.
Marwa started her career as R&D Engineer at HoneywellUOP in the United States as she was nominated by a few students for HoneywellUOP Scholarship. She worked on Oil and Gas projects for UOP licenses worldwide.
Marwa holds Leadership Professional Certificate by Harvard University in 2022 and Problem-solving Professional Certificate by General Motors – United States in 2018. Marwa has a representative character full of enthusiasm with a leveraged degree of positive attitude. She was nominated as a speaker at ADIPEC 2022 conference to provide a session about the global need to transition away from fossil fuels toward an energy mix dominated by low-carbon energy sources which impact climate change. Moreover, she was nominated as a speaker at EGYPS 2022 & 2023 conferences for the youth professionals’ program to provide sessions about leadership skills in the oil and gas industry, dedicated to inspiring the youth about sciences and engineering. Also, she provided a session entitled green hydrogen worldwide in EGYPS 2023. Marwa provided orientation sessions for newcomer engineers at ENPPI in 2022. Furthermore, she was selected to represent Egypt at Renewable Energy and Sustainability Conference in Germany in 2014. The conference included around 50 international professors and students from foreign countries such as Germany, Tunisia, and Algeria.
On the academic scale, Marwa graduated with High Honors and High Distinction in Chemical Engineering Department, ranked second place within the top 5 students, at Cairo University in 2017. Consequently, she was awarded by Egyptian Engineers Syndicate and by Scientific Association in Egypt. Marwa has a natural inclination for study and research. This inclination stems from her curious bent mind and nature for exploring every topic to its depth. She earned her master’s degree in chemical engineering at Cairo University and published one paper in the oil and gas industry in 2022. In parallel, she does researches on green hydrogen and renewable energy toward a sustainable and low-carbon future.
On a personal scale, Marwa was a Taekwondo athlete in the Egyptian National Team in 2012. She participated in about 25 championships, achieved 20 medals, and was awarded to be within the international team camps in Paris, Turkey, and Jordan. Marwa believes that social responsibility is a duty. For this reason, she took many leading positions as a volunteer in an extra-curricular student activity to support and empower youth, which will, in turn, be beneficial to developing leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills all the while learning to be a team player. Moreover, she is always eager to share her knowledge with others, she provided sessions in Engineering and non-Engineering topics to her colleagues at work and for youth at universities and conferences.
